Emergency Trauma Management Course

Do you ever manage trauma patients?

Do you lead a team?

Do you work in a team?

Have you done the ETM - Emergency Trauma Management Course yet?

Well why not!

ETM is the New and Exciting and Up-to-date version of EMST/ATLS - but includes a whole lot more. Designed by Emergency Physicians (not surgeons), for Emergency Physicians, it teaches trauma and team management/communication from the ED perspective - how we really do it in the ED.

Forget the *C-collars, *backboards and *PR exams - this is a 3 day course that teaches Evidence Based Medicine, through simulation, skills workshops, small group interactive sessions and mini lectures. This is a particularly fantastic course for those leading up to the Fellowship Exam - it covers the entire trauma curriculum and creates a great base of knowledge to tie all the random MCQs you are going to learn to.

The New Zealand ETM course will be held in Auckland Friday October 9th to Sunday October 11th 2015. There are also courses in Oz if you want to go somewhere warmer and have the strength to work with **Australians for a weekend.

* Apologies - being controversial - ignore at will
** Apologies to 'Stralians
*** I have no financial interest to this course - I just believe it is a fantastic course that everyone should do

I highly recommend doing this course rather than EMST (trainees can get one or the other paid for by the DHB).
